Professional Dance Audition Photography Session

Present your hard work and talent in a captivating manner through exceptional photography that is certain to capture the attention of Academy Directors, Artistic Directors, and Choreographers. Limited spots are available for this exclusive opportunity to build a remarkable and polished portfolio specifically tailored for dance auditions.

Inclusions:

Your session, priced at $275, includes a 25-minute session, and you will receive 3 retouched full-resolution digital images of your choice from the gallery. If desired, additional images can be purchased from the gallery. Throughout the session, you will benefit from personalized coaching by Jennifer, aimed at optimizing your technique and dynamics, resulting in stunning images that you can proudly submit with your dance audition applications.

Session Highlights:

The session will commence with headshots to capture a range of your captivating expressions before moving to our more physical poses. We will prioritize your audition pose requirements. These typically include a tendu a la seconde and a first arabesque but it is advisable to research the specific requirements of each audition you plan to attend to ensure that we capture the exact poses you need. If time permits, we will explore additional poses to diversify and expand your portfolio. Feel free to come prepared with pose options that highlight your strengths and talents.

Gallery and Ordering:

Following the dance audition session, you will have access to an online proof gallery showcasing a selection of 10 to 25 images from which you can make your choices. Both digital and print options are available, with prices starting at $15, and there are no minimum purchase requirements.

Delivery Timeline:

Once you have made your image selections, orders typically take between 10 to 20 days to be processed and delivered to you. Print orders can take an additional 10-14 business days to be shipped to you.

We have the privilege of welcoming Karen Wing, a distinguished former professional BalletMet dancer, who will be hosting an exclusive 1-hour Q&A session. This presents a unique opportunity for participants to engage in insightful discussions and receive expert guidance on all matters related to auditions.

With an illustrious career spanning ten years as a professional ballerina and a BFA in Dance-Performance from the esteemed University of California-Irvine, Karen Wing brings a wealth of personal experience and expertise to the table. Her valuable insights are certain to be an invaluable resource for all attendees.

About Jennifer

Jennifer Zmuda is an Emmy award-winning director and professional photographer in Columbus, Ohio. Drawing on her national reputation as a dance photographer, Jennifer’s photography services showcase a passion for movement and storytelling that sets her work apart. From corporate video production to upscale wedding photography, her work is backed by an extensive portfolio of high-profile clients across the country.

Jennifer’s projects have been featured in The Washington Post, Good Housekeeping, Architectural Digest, Pointe Magazine, Dance Magazine, The Columbus Dispatch, CityScene, and many other local and national outlets. With a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of California, Irvine, she launched her photography business in 2006 and continues to shoot dance and wedding photography along with senior pictures, baby portraits, corporate videos, and much more.

Since 2011, Jennifer has acted as the sole dance photographer and videographer for BalletMet, the premier Columbus dance company and academy, and in 2017, she won her first Emmy for the short-format dance film, “Vaulted.”
