Fall is almost here and it’s a great time to share five tips on how to get the most out of your photo session. Whether your doing  family photos, a senior session, engagements, or maybe a session just for you – these tips can be applied to make the most out of your experience.

Session Location

Location is so important. We’re lucky in Columbus to have so many beautiful metro parks and public parks to choose from. Pick one that speaks to you most. If you’re not as familiar with our parks as you want to be you can check them out below.

Inniswood Metro Garden

Whetstone Rose Garden

Franklin Park Conservatory

Scioto Audubon

Battelle Darby Creek

Sharon Woods Metro Park

Jeffrey Mansion

Goodale Park

The above are just a few of my favorites, but the list goes on and on. Can’t decide? I’m always here to help.

What to Wear to Your Session

Have fun planning your outfits and keep in mind you don’t have to match each other from head to toe. It’s good to have a color scheme and style in mind to act as your guide. You can also look to others for inspiration, I do a lot of my outfit planning for big shoots on Pinterest.

Avoid Hanger

Come on a comfortably full stomach, and still…bring snacks. Nothing stops a session faster than hanger. Especially for toddlers, it’s amazing what a little food bribery can do for our photos.

Be Present Throughout Your Session

Doing a photoshoot with your kids? Keep in mind they’re just that, kids. All they want is to have fun, explore and play with you. To get those truly genuine smiles or candid moments that radiate with love and personality we’ve got to embrace the moment. Be present with you kiddos and be ready to play.

Make Some Memories

The most important thing is to come ready to have fun and spend some quality time with your loved ones. We’re making memories with our time together and the happiest memories are the ones filled with love and laughter.
